BRIEF

The challenge was to create a two-hour immersive event at Sala Apolo, Barcelona’s iconic club. The concept and format were entirely open, the only requirement was to design an original, cohesive experience for 100 guests.

my team was responsible for defining the core concept, visual identity, and overall art direction of the event.

GOAL

To design an event that visually and emotionally represents the idea of collision - a metaphor for diversity, identity, and transformation within a collective experience.

PROCESS

Within five weeks, our team developed Col·lisió from concept to live execution. We led the entire creative direction process - building the event narrative, scenography, and production schedule while coordinating between performers, sound designers, and visual artists.

MY ROLE

Creative Direction: Co-leading the concept and spatial design narrative.

Styling Direction: Designing and assembling costumes for artists and crew, and creating a distinct visual symbol to unify the team’s identity on stage.

Beyond the creative aspects, I contributed to timeline coordination and production flow, ensuring the concept was consistently reflected in every stage of the event’s design and execution.

SOFT SKILLS IN ACTION

Team Leadership & Collaboration: Guided creative and styling teams toward a unified aesthetic.

Creative Problem-Solving: Balanced artistic experimentation with production realities.

Communication & Adaptability: Maintained alignment among multidisciplinary contributors in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

CHALLENGE

The project involved a large group of creators and designers, each bringing different ideas and creative visions. With only five weeks to produce the event, I had to find balance between multiple artistic directions, manage opinions, and keep the concept consistent across all teams.

SOLOTION

I applied strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills to align everyone around a shared creative vision. Through open discussions, clear visual presentations, and collective decision-making, I helped the team reach consensus without losing the conceptual depth. I also worked to inspire and persuade others to embrace our direction, ensuring both creative coherence and team motivation under tight deadlines.

OVERALL THEME DIRECTION

Col·lisió is an event whose concept was triggered by an overwhelming shared experience of landing in Barcelona as outsiders and threading a community. it embodies the clash of diversity and the power of communities through metaphorical acts that mirror a collision and its aftermath sensations in a club.process

The result was an experimental club experience combining live dance, sound art, and light performance, immersing the audience in the emotional rhythm of “collision.”

Collision [noun]

the direct contact between two or more bodies, perceived by a sudden acceleration or deceleration usually caused by an impact. The duration of the contact is usually very short and at this time the greatest amount of energy is transmitted between the bodies.
